Play the game

I like chess because teaches pure life skills.

I love chess because teaches ‘sacrifice’.

Make no mistake:

Chess is a game of ‘sacrifice’.

Sacrifice tho contrary to popular belief, is not just risking everything with no guarantee. But is an act of giving up one thing for another, in all conscience for better good.

There is no winner in Chess without sacrifice.

There is no winner in life without sacrifice.

Step forward and make one.

Play the God damn game.

Ask 'how' more

We ask questions to resolve problems, to remember things or to put them together.

Often we ask to proof opposite and occasionally we ask to help others to develop a new idea.

Reason you are more hanged at first than second is because you ask with ‘If’.

Question is not “Did the moon landing actually happen?” but is “How it happened?”.

Ask ‘how’ more and keep ‘if’ on silent.

New ideas will follow…

Teach instead of warning

Caution signs aren’t there to prevent catastrophe.

“Do not use elevator in case of fire” will not help during evacuation and will not get any attention on normal days.

You hang one because you don’t want to take initiative. You hang one because you flinch from accountability. You hang one just to say: We told you so!

What is the alternative then?

Education.

You teach those who you seek to serve instead of instructing them. Then you engage. And, then, shortly thereafter, you might not need to hang warnings anymore.

It is extremely unlikely for a frequent flyer to not sign up for an airline loyalty program. This act would be a stupid extravagancy. Long lines, exhausting procedures, lose of time and money. Thus as an airline company, your invitation is not vital maybe not necessary. You invite or not they will sign up.

Calling for “Follow us on Social Media” tho is very hard to sell. They will not pay attention. They will not engage. Because engaging with people with no obvious benefit or satisfaction is vastly rigid. Next time when you ask them to join you in those fancy billboards ask yourself first: “Why they should do that?“.

Mentor vs hero

“My dad is my hero!” or “My fiancé is my true hero” kind of phrases we hear a lot. These people time to time fails to continue their connections due to false anticipations. Concept of ‘hero’ is based on unknown and distance. Your hero never is aware of your existence. Insomuch that you never know her true identity. Fair enough she never exposes that (Like Spider-Women). These are conditions of being a hero.

On the other hand what you mean, moreover what you need is a mentor. Mentor follows up and rates your progress. Mentor voluntarily takes your side.

You don’t need a hero you need a mentor.

Hurdles to hustles

We have more than 30,000 different type of smartphones in our lives. More than a dozen will fit your needs. Having options is not a problem anymore. Choosing tho is kinda tricky.

We are living in an era which I describe as replacing old world hurdles to new world hustles. We solved connection issues yet we are less connected. Ironically; less connected to our loved ones, neighbors, clients etc. Connection matters. When you are connected you are wired to listen, to understand and to care. People who receive such an attentions are more tended to make decisions.

Listen, understand and care for your clients. Among thousands of options and in an era of hustlers they will choose you.

Jon Snow

GOT has ended so is the watch. Leaving trash of unsatisfied, devastated fans behind. Epic series wrapped with the most unlikely fashion imaginable.

Beside of compressed and primitive script, poor CGI and weak production GOT didn’t keep her main promises. Promises bred while main character of the show was built by GRRM heedfully.

Promise 1: Jon Snow (Bastard) became the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

Promise 2: Assassinated Lord Commander resurrected by Lord of Light.

Promise 3: Jon Snow (Bastard) became King in the North.

Promise 4: Samwell Tarly and Bran revealed that Jon Snow is the son of Rheagar Targaryen and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Promise 5: Jon Snow united armies to fight the Death and leaded them to the victory.

Above all Jon was only character devoted enough to go to the fiery edges of his highest limits. Only one actually can make the change happen. And you Benioff and Weiss; marked him assassin, exiled him to the land of no man, expelled the Dragon, the true King, alongside Wildlings (No offense but tribe of savages). Congratulation jerks, you did reductio ad absurdum.

What you sell?

Recently I had a heated discussion with my colleague about sorting products by customers purchase patterns. She was arguing that “need” for purchase cannot be different from “want” for purchase. Which I’m often at variance. How come?

Well… What we need can be easily exemplify like an air, water, security, health, sex etc. These are things what we need and pretty much everything else is a want. Such as iPhoneX, Netflix membership, Starbucks “Caramel Macchiato” etc.

Please know what you sell. Determine. Is your product a need or a want?

If you are wrong

Usually we don’t realize when we are part of the problem. Or let say when we are wrong.

“Yes, it’s possible I’m wrong. I don’t know how. But I guess when someone’s wrong they never know how.” - Mike (The Big Short)

Knowing that takes a while for some and until catastrophic homestrach for others.

My warning beacon for not to trap in such a misfortune is simple: Answer 3 basic questions:

1- Did I delivered what I promised?*

2- Did I implemented other theories/suggestions in fair treat?

3- Did I crosschecked the results with opposition?

In order to answer all these questions fairly you should move into a free zone. Where you will disrobe all your bias and render an account.

*Sometimes being late is much of the same being wrong. As Mike’s case.

Say “I just don’t do it!”

Lately I noticed that we are dragged deep into monkey business. Turns out contemn&sell left to be main marketing strategy for the massive companies.

People are being harshly contemned, pushed and judged every day to break their limits. To bring down imaginary walls. To chase white rabbit and to not dare to turn back until they consume their full energy. And at the end, despairingly, to buy their served products which are presented like sine quo non for the quest.

It’s not and we don’t have to. You don’t have to.

Just give us a fucking break!

Trust me you don’t need to. Follow your daily schedule, your life is your life and you will decide when to run. Not when some creepy Greek God company tells you to do so.

Say “I just don’t do it!”
